A 200s thread count yarn is finer and smoother than a 180s, which in turn surpasses the 140s and 120s, and so on. Viewed from the other direction, the lower the count, the heavier and coarser the fabric becomes. A 40s yarn, therefore, is noticeably heavier and coarser than a graceful 60s.
